A Few Words to Introduce Myself
My name is Justin T. Lockhart, and I’m here to help you navigate a rapidly changing business landscape with financial data, analytics, and insight with integrity and transparency. One characteristic that sets me apart is that I was a non-tradatitional statudent in college, in that I was older than most of my peers, but also wiser from experience working out in the world and setting career goals that I had achieved. The economic downturn of 2009 is what lead to me resuming my pursuit of a college degree - switching from Pre-Med to Business Management then dual majoring with Corporate Accounting. Today, I hold a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) with an Accounting focus from Kent State University (2016) and earned those two previously mentioned associate degrees from Stark State College (2013 & 2014). During 2023, I made the decision to finish my academic career by pursuing my masters in Data Analytics and Accountancy (MACAN) as a mean to expand my knowledge base and separate myself from other non-licensed accountants who had the same level of education.
My experience spans both industry and public accounting, and I've had the privilege of working alongside some incredible accountants. One, in particular, taught me lessons that have stayed with me for almost five years now.
Now, I know you didnt come here to read my resume. Youre here because you want to know what I do, how I can help, and if you can trust me to follow through. As an accountant, I value integrity and confidentiality. It is what is expected of us accountants, and without it, there is no trust. Without that foundation, you as a business owner, or decision-maker cannot trust the numbers provided or the financials we prepare - nor should you, if your accountant doesnt see and uphold the tenents of our profession. I did not make choose to be a solo practitioner as a way to raise my economic standing, or growth my personal wealth. I did it for balance. I traded my lifetime earnings potential for the life I have wanted for twenty years - to be my own boss. It has not been easy, and there is still plenty of work to do before I am where I want to be, but that is an another benefit to working with me. More likely than not, I have already made the mistakes a new and small business owner can make - so I cah help you avoid them, learn from them, and overcome them as I have.
